Bella had somehow made it up the aisle without one slip. Even with the long train of her wedding dress, and the small heels that Alice insisted on. Bella was sitting at a small table with Edward, listening to the end of a speech Charlie insisted on making.

As Charlie’s speech ended and voices echoed in the Cullens’ large front room, Bella took a small sip of her champagne, noticing that Edward was faking a sip in unison.

“Bella, it’s time for the first dance,” Alice nudged affectionately.

“Don’t worry,” Edward said gingerly, “on my toes, just like the prom.”
