I felt the rain on my skin, but didn’t react to the stinging cold as I once would have. I was running faster and faster, chasing my prey as it tried to escape its inevitable end. I could smell the panic, the quick pace of blood searing the skin. My tongue licked my upper lip in anticipation.

Suddenly, my arms reached out and pulled the blood red hair, my teeth at her throat before I’d had a chance to stop running. Her screams echoed against the buildings, like a symphony of agony and desire.

My aching thirst was finally quenched.
