Stumbling out of a bar they were both too young for and seeing the blur of unfamiliar cars. Embry toppled to the ground and Paul’s laugh lit up the darkened sky. Paul leaned down to help him up and ended up right beside him on the pavement.
“Tequila is never good, man.” Paul breathed between laughs.
Embry’s head nodded and he lifted from the ground, grabbing Paul’s hand and pulling him as well. Embry looked at Paul for a split second before turning away embarrassed.
Paul coughed loudly and pointed at a black sports car. “We’ll pretend that’s what we drove here in.”
Embry shoved Paul sideways and raced to the car, happy to find the passenger side door unlocked. He grinned and stage whispered, “Are we really stealing a car?”
Paul shot him an annoyed look broke the window, “We’re borrowing. Dumbass.”
