“It isn’t funny, take it back.” Alice’s caramel eyes bore into Jasper, forcing him to smile and attempt an apology.
His arms instinctively wrapped around Alice, holding her small body against his. “It was a joke! And mostly Emmett’s idea, anyway!”
Alice felt her hands pull into fists, shoving him away. “Stop looking at me like that!”
“Like what?”
“Like… like…,” she let her words fall to the floor and kissed the corner of his mouth. His fingertips danced along her spine, pulling her even closer to him.
Suddenly, Alice jerked away, upset again. “Wait! We were fighting!”
“We were?”
