Edward had stopped breathing long before, not being able to indulge in Jacob's scent like before. It stung him, like daggers piercing his chest. But as soon as Jacob spoke, the breath he'd been holding for much too long gasped out of him. It was like the walls he'd built back around himself were falling, crumbling to the ground around him and he barely took notice.

Jacob's eyes widened and his head dropped, both of them couldn't move. Edward opened his mouth to attempt to say something, anything, and closed it soon after, unable to think of a single thing. He finally crossed the distance between them, his hand going under Jacob's chin. When he lifted Jacob's head, their eyes locked again, he couldn't hold the words echoing around in his head from slipping past his lips.

"Us, always."

Jacob flinched, his mind going a million miles a minute. Edward felt Jacob inside him, around him, felt everything they had been and closed his eyes, finally taking in their combined scents. He was barely aware but his arms wrapped around Jacob's frame, both of them holding each other tighter than anyone should. Jacob's mouth found its place at Edward's neck, kissing his cool skin and Edward finally felt himself relax for the first time in months.

"I'm yours, Edward. I'll always be yours." Jacob's voice nearly shook, he was struggling to keep himself together.

Edward pulled backward from Jacob, their eyes meeting and all that familiar electricity shooting through both of them.

Jacob's hands moved up Edward's back, one tangling into Edward's hair and their mouths connected with an intense force. Their hands were fighting to pull the other closer, their lips pressed violently together, moving with their own pattern.

The minute Jacob had to break for air, Edward ran his hand down Jacob's face, smiling wide. "I love you, I love you. I love you."

Jacob smiled as well, his breath ragged. "I know. I'll always know."
